This was a short week. We didn't have school Wednesday or Thursday due to teacher inservice days. Next week we'll celebrate Read Across America Week in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday! Please read with your child often. There are so many benefits for children whose parents read with them, and Read Across America Week is a great time to emphasize the importance of reading to young children.
Instead of learning a letter this week, we reviewed the letters we've learned so far. Here are some continued reminders!
There will be no kindergarten roundup this year because the kiddos are moving straight from me to Mrs. Dauwen. Instead, they'll be taking a preschool form of the MAPS test on the computer (which is formatted like a fun game). That, along with my GOLD data will give her an idea of what these students know!
There will be preschool roundup for NEW preschool students only. If your child is already enrolled, you don't need to worry about preschool roundup!
Snacks. It's happening again! We're running low on snacks for our classroom. If you are able, please bring a large box of crackers or dry cereal to school for your child to enjoy at snack time. With close to 30 preschoolers, snacks don't last very long. We appreciate your continued support!
I want to educate all parents/guardians about the law regarding seat belts and car seats for young children in Nebraska (NE Revised Statute 60-6,267). Preschoolers should sit in a forward-facing car seat or booster seat with a three-point harness, in the back seat of the car. Anyone in violation of this law can be ticketed and fined, even if they get cited for nothing else. This is a safety concern that we'll be taking very seriously. Please buckle up for safety!
Book orders are due March 17!
