This was our last full week of school before break! We studied the letter M. Lately the students have been working very hard on recognizing and writing their names. We've already seen great improvement! Like I've said before, please work with your child on the tripod grip when holding a writing utensil. For some, it's a struggle to build small muscle dexterity in those little hands! When the students say that their hands are getting tired, that's a good sign! Coloring, tracing, writing, and drawing are all essential skills for young children. Please encourage them to explore these skills at home.
Monday is our last full regular day of preschool for both classes.
Tuesday will be a normal day for the MORNING preschoolers. There will be NO afternoon preschool. Instead, both AM and PM preschoolers should meet in our classroom by 12:45 for our holiday program.
The holiday program begins at 1:00 in the school auditorium.
Parents are asked to bring a dozen cookies to share after the concert. Punch will be provided.
We are required by the state to do home visits twice every year. That time is coming around again. I'll have a sign up sheet at the Holiday Program for parents to sign up for a time to do the home visit (I'm hoping to complete them all in January). Just like last time, this is a requirement, but it isn't an inspection of your home. It's simply a way to bridge the gap between home and school. We'll also use this as a halfway point to discuss your child's progress.
As always, thanks for your support!
